The most exceptional Edwardian brooch, my plan is to convert to a pendant!
So many of you just want the rare Old cut pear drop this is easily converted to a pendant but I am offering as a whole for now.
An imperial aquamarine and diamond brooch, featuring a central cushion-cut aquamarine surrounded by foliate diamond motifs and a suspended drop old pear cut diamond. I believe likely French or Russian in origin but I can find no marks.
C.1910. 18ct & platinum and is an exceptional piece, the workmanship is simply exquisite.
The central cushion-cut aquamarine with a crisp, ice-blue color, beautifully accented by a delicate yellow gold collet rim.
Aquamarine measures 9.3mm x 8.7mm and calculates to 2.50ct.
The drop pear is VS clarity/G colour in my opinion. Measuring 9.5mm x 6.4mm including fine milligrain setting. Estimated at 1ct.
Many smaller Old diamonds surround.
Huge gemstone weight.
Dimensions 3cm x 3cm drop length.
A simply top class piece to wear or convert.
