A wonderful Antique Transtional cut Diamond. C.1930. 🏁
Because cutting machinery was still evolving, these early Transitional Cuts displayed highly unique facet distributions. In many of these stones, the geometric symmetry of the upper crown and lower pavilion facets reflects light in a distinct, alternating pattern. This creates a blocky, woven “checkerboard” visual pattern across the top of the stone rather than the crisp, star-like arrows seen in a modern diamond.
Measuring 7.3mm, known weight 1.41ct.
Exceptionally clean and very good colour too, in my opinion VS/I to J.
Low profile, simple platinum setting
Size O, resizable
An incredibly beautiful solitaire.
