Description
Now these are really quite rare!
Pearls are the birthstone for June!
A stunning pair of Edwardian Antique Natural Pearl and Old Cut Diamond Cluster Drop Earrings. Crafted around 1910. these exquisite earrings are characteristic of the delicate, feminine elegance of the Edwardian era.
Design &
Each earring highlights a central lustrous, in my opinion a natural saltwater pearl (6.5mm in diameter). beautifully framed by a daisy-style scalloped halo of old brilliant-cut diamonds.
An antique natural button pearl (historically called a bouton pearl) refers to a real, uncultured gemstone harvested from wild mollusks before the creation of cultured pearls in the 1920s.
Characterised by a distinctive dome-shaped top and a flat reverse, these rare saltwater gems were the absolute height of luxury during the Victorian, Edwardian, and Belle Epoque
eras.
Because wild, natural saltwater pearls are exceptionally scarce, they are highly sought after by collectors and fetch premium prices in the fine jewelry market.
Total diamond weight of 2ct approx, platinum set. 18ct butterflies.
