In 30yrs of trading I have never seen one like this!
An incredibly rare, high dome, Oval antique Rose cut. C.1750.
In remarkable condition. Exceptional colour and clarity.
Foil backed, close backed setting.
These Rose cuts are so often shallow but we have great depth to this stone.
Originally, I believe part of a brooch or Tiara perhaps, the top collet setting is original to the diamond, easily removed from shank as securely held by 4 claws/hook holding on to ring section.
Also included photos of a loose Rose cut, known weight of 3.90ct to give you an idea of size. Comfortably in the region of 3ct but we do not wish to remove from setting.
Measuring 11.2mm x 9.7mm x 7.2mm depth.
A considered purchase and an exceptional investment.
