Description
A simply incredible Cocktail Bombe ring. Retro 1950s possibly early 60s with an antique centre diamond. Handmade, bespoke piece. There will never be another the same!
Checkerboard facetting typical of the Early Modern brilliant cut/Transitional cut dating from late 1920s/30s.
A “checkerboard” pattern in a transitional cut diamond refers to a specific visual effect created by the arrangement of its pavilion facets. Produced primarily between the 1920s and 1940s, these diamonds bridge the gap between antique Old European cuts and modern round brilliants. While transitional cuts generally feature larger tables, lower crowns, and smaller culets than their predecessors, the checkerboard pattern adds a distinct, symmetrical light-play characteristic to select stones.
The centre is magnificent! In my experienced opinion H colour and VS clarity (official grading will be lowered due to tiny unseen chip on the pavillion) minor girdle abrasions, could be polished but to me this is part of her history!
